Symposium 2020 will take place at our virtual Harvard Business School hall, hosted through our platform partner vFairs. Instructions below.
What to expect?
The virtual venue contains 4 locations, where all the action happens:
The Auditorium - attend each keynote and panel discussion.
The Lobby – visit the Information Desk for a copy of this Symposium Handbook & for Tech Support.
The Company Exhibition Hall - engage with companies & demo their technology.
The Lounge - join discussions with other attendees, invite attendees to chat 1:1, and browse attendee profiles!
How to enter:
Button below takes you to the virtual venue. Click “Enter Symposium” and input the email address you used to register for your Symposium Ticket.
The Virtual Venue will open on November 14 for the Symposium pre-event (Saturday Nov 14, 6pm-7:15pm Eastern), and remain open through the Symposium on Sunday Nov 15.

Before the Symposium
1. Download Zoom to attend keynotes & panels. Download Zoom here.
2. Check your tech. Your new three best friends: (1) the vFairs Venue (in a browser of your choice), (2) the Lounge networking chats, and (3) Zoom. For non-webinar sessions, we encourage cameras-ON. However, to avoid screen-fatigue, we recommend balancing your camera time throughout the day.
3. Update your profile in vFairs. You might include your interests, organization name, LinkedIn, or if you’re hiring / seeking co-founder. (See below: “HOW TO ENTER THE VIRTUAL VENUE”)
4. Browse attendee profiles in vFairs. See who’s here & indicate your interest to meet up during the symposium! You can find all profiles in the Lounge.

What is the dress code for the conference? The attire is “work-from-home". Please dress respectfully.
Who can attend the conference? Everyone is invited to join us! Historically, attendance has consisted of an even mix of over 700 energy professionals and students.
Can I post on social media during the event? Yes! Please share photos of your virtual desk, symposium merchandise, and your attendance! The symposium is considered closed to media, and most sessions will not be recorded. However, those in attendance can tweet and report. Don’t forget to tag @HBSEnergyClub #HBSEnergySymposium2020!
Will merchandise will be provided? Early-bird ticket purchasers will recieve symposium merchandise shipped to a US address.

How do I know if someone has indicated interest in a one-on-one meeting?
>> Your registered email account will receive an email from no-reply@vfairs.com notifying you of interest. If you’d like to meet up, join them in the Lounge!
Is there a “discussion chat” for the session I am currently attending?
>> Yes! Please go to vFairs Venue > Lounge to enter the General Chat or a specific Panel Chat.
