Education

  • Climate Symposium: The annual HBS Climate Symposium is one of the largest student-run conferences, attracting over 700 attendees working on the world's major energy challenges.

  • Speaking Events: Both the Boston ecosystem and the Cambridge community attract innovators across the energy and environment space. We bring these leaders to campus to discuss the latest opportunities they see with our members and the wider HBS community.

Career

  • Company Treks: Occurring in both the Fall and Spring Semesters, E&E club members will travel on club-sponsored treks to the Bay Area and Iceland with other exciting destinations potentially being added. During these treks, club members visit with leading companies, tour their facilities, and talk with their leadership teams.

  • Club Resume Book: As an E&E Club member, your resume will be included in the E&E Club resume book that is requested by the leading employers in the field.

  • Guidance: We know that it can be daunting to pivot into the climate space. To help members discover this landscape, we will be providing overviews of key players in a variety of climate focus areas to help with recruiting.

Boston has a robust and growing ecosystem for energy entrepreneurship, encompassing everything from novel Tough Tech innovations to Software-as-a-Service platforms to impact-focused foundations.

Community

  • Happy Hours: Come join us to get to know other Club members in a relaxed atmosphere. Our regular happy hours will be open to students interested in energy and the environment from across the Harvard and Boston area graduate programs.

  • Small Group Dinners: About once per month, we will get together in smaller groups to discuss a topic.

  • Mentorship: All incoming E&E Club members will be paired with a second year mentor to ask for advice about navigating the energy and environment ecosystem at HBS and beyond.

  • Conferences: Many E&E Club members independently attend various conferences (e.g., NYC Climate Week, COP, ClimateCAP, ARPA-E). We’ll make sure everyone knows which other club members are attending these events.

  • Newsletter: Our weekly newsletter shares information about events and job opportunities, while keeping members abreast of the latest developments.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship

  • Rock Summer Fellows: The Rock Summer Fellows program, provides an opportunity for students exploring an entrepreneurial path to focus on founding a new venture, working at a startup, or pursuing a role in venture capital.

  • Broader Boston Ecosystem: The Energy and Environment Club is plugged into various parts of the broader Boston climate VC and startup ecosystem and will provide support and introductions to members interested in learning more.
